Mission
At FOUNDATION OF LIFE, we focus on helping
you improve your overall health. We believe that yoga is a
valuable tool for keeping the entire body healthy. We teach
the physical postures (ASHTANGA YOGA) to increase flexibility,
strengthen and tone muscles, and improve circulation. Breathing
techniques, deep relaxation and meditation aid in calming the
mind and reducing the effects of stress.
Our variety of classes support students at different levels
and ages. To encompass the many benefits of yoga, the classes
are well rounded with detailed instruction rooted in traditional
Ashtanga yoga, include breathing and relaxation techniques
and provide a good foundation for a meditation practice.
Our certified instructors provide a safe environment that encourages
students to progress at their own pace and for teaching students
good alignment techniques to prevent injury.
Our Style
The style of traditional Ashtanga
yoga practiced at FOUNDATION OF LIFE is meditative with the attention
drawn inward to encourage you to observe and honor your own individual
physical abilities. This inward, heart-centered approach allows
for an accessible style that everyone can practice. You are supported
in a safe, comfortable environment and encouraged to progress
at your own pace.
The classes are led as a meditation in motion developing mindfulness
not only during yoga practice, but in everyday life. Classes
consist of traditional postures, taught with detailed instruction
and combined with short rest periods designed to integrate
body, mind and spirit. Also included -- guided deep relaxation,
breathing practices, and meditation -- offering a well-balanced
practice to support your overall health. |
