Foundation of Life for Students

Education institutions, the family, the society and the country all expect that the student should be disciplined and that they should have a good character. We want education to develop character, discipline, and restraint toleration, some how this is not happening. What we are witnessing in the occurrence of vandalism, violent agitations and arrogance. The reason is obvious. Modern education has nothing to offer for the student’s mental and emotional development. Our schools are full of teacher’s physical exercise and yogic postures as well as of those who dole out enormous quantities of materials for intellectual development but they have hardly any one who can take care of the student’s mental and emotional development.

We have presented four aspects of the value education:

  • The balancer of the vital force.
  • Establishment of biological balance.
  • Rousing faith in the individual’s potentialities.
  • Refinement.
  • All this will yield results of four kinds:
  • Bodily development.
  • Intellectual development.
  • Mental development.
  • Emotional development.

The FOUNDATION OF LIFE is a training course based on scientific principles. It is comprehensive and the various branches of learning have been drawn from modern and ancient sciences as well as humanities. The emphasis is on practical training and regular practice. The theoretical studies, however, are included in the syllabus, mainly in order to comprehend the fundamental theories and hypotheses made use of in the practical exercise.

Now days we face so many psychosomatic diseases, that scientists have proved that psychological stress could have a disastrous effect on the physical health.
Health is defined as state of complete physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing.
Foundation of life is a science of right living and, as such, is intended to be incorporated in daily life. It works on all aspect of the person: the physical, mental, social and spiritual.

The following branches of learning are the main constitutes of the syllabus: 

Physical foundation 
It helps each body cell to revitalize itself; it facilitates digestion; it makes respiration more efficient and improves circulation and quality of blood. The practice of foundation of life will bring about positive changes in the chemistry of the body. When the mood and emotion producing hormones from the adrenals are properly regulated and harmonized by those of pituitary, the equilibrium of the body chemistry is more balanced.

Mental foundation
Metal foundation becomes a methodology to train the mind to concentrate; it cleans and relaxes the mind; it offers a way to treat serious psychosomatic illnesses without drugs; it is an efficient exercise in self discipline leading to the end of addiction and other bad habits; it leads to what lies beyond the conscious mind.

Emotional foundation
On Emotional foundation, the strengthening of conscious reasoning controls reaction to environmental conditions, situation and behavior of others: harmonization of the functioning of nervous and endocrine system result in control and eradication of psychological distortions.

Spiritual foundation
On spiritual foundation, regulation of blood-chemistry through proper chanalization of neuro-endocrine secretions, and dispassionate internal vibrations lead one to attain the power to control the mind and to become free from the effects of external forces compelling one to lose equanimity. 

One-week "foundation of life" course

Day one

  • Group demonstration.
  • Introduction of “foundation of life”, aims and objectives.
  • Losening excercises.
  • Talk on “faith, honesty and hard work”.
  • introdution to proper breathing and various breathing techniques
  • Deep relaxation.

Day two

  • Talk on “will power”.
  • Losening exercises.
  • Practice of various breathing techniques
  • Asana (steady postures) practical.
  • deep relaxation.
  • Prayer.(its significance and chanting)

Day three

  • Talk on “discipline”.
  • Surya namaskar + asana.
  • Practice of proper breathing excercises
  • Tratak meditation

Day four

  • Talk on”diet”.
  • Losening exercises.
  • Surya namaskar + asana.
  • Breathing exercises.
  • Msrt(meditation)

Day five

  • Queries and solutions
  • Practical of 30 min
